The 10th Art Conserve (2023)

An Artistic and Charitable Weekend

The 10th edition of Art Conserve takes place on Saturday, November 11, and Sunday, November 12, 2023, at the Maison Folie Wazemmes. The event is organized by the Weekend’Artistes association to assist the La Tente Des Glaneurs association, which collects unsold fruit, vegetables, bread, and flowers from floating markets in France. Cinquante artistes consacrent leur talent à la personnalisation de boîtes de conserve. À cette occasion, les visiteurs ont la possibilité d’acheter ces boîtes de conserve artistiques en échange de boîtes de conserve pleines. Ces denrées sont ensuite distribuées aux personnes n’ayant pas accès à l’aide alimentaire traditionnelle.

Program and Activities

Launch of the Event

The event kicks off on Saturday, November 11 at 2:30 pm, with the doors opening at 2 pm and sales starting at 3 pm. WEA is opening an exchange center to enable visitors to buy coupons in exchange for cans, which will make it easier to participate for those who forgot to bring their tin cans. The collected products will be distributed over four Sundays during the winter season to the beneficiaries of La Tente Des Glaneurs, expanding their offer with non-perishable products.

Programmed activities

Participants can enjoy an exhibition sale where 30% of the revenues are donated to fund the purchase of new canned goods. The program also includes art installations, live performances, free art discovery workshops, DJ sets, and a concert, guaranteeing a weekend full of culture and solidarity.

To commemorate this 10th edition, ten renowned artists who have supported the event since its very beginning are present, bringing with them a rich heritage from the world of urban and contemporary art:

• VLP (Vive La Peinture), pioneers of the Parisian graffiti movement.
• Nasty, famous Parisian street artist and prominent member of the 156 crew.
• Patrick Chappert-Gaujal, who’s renowned for his contemporary art in Narbonne.
• Raf Urban, master of the stencil in Paris.
• Jaune-Art, Belgium’s iconic street artist.
• Dr Colors and LEM, the leading figures of Roubaix street art.
• Mr Poes, based in Paris and Lyon.
• Zacharie Bodson and Kelu Abstract, local talents from Lille.
